Just like the since-corrected issue with The Simpsons over at Disney — the beloved show was presented on the streamer in a 16:9 aspect ratio rather than the original 4:3, leading to some missing key visual gags — the library of Seinfeld episodes that arrived on Netflix recently have also been presented in the incorrect ratio.
It's a slightly smaller issue this time around as Seinfeld relies less on visual jokes, but it becomes an obvious problem when viewers reach the show's 150th episode, "The Pothole."
In the episode, George Costanza thinks he's lost his keys in a pothole that's then filled in — but due to Netflix's aspect ratio, when he and Jerry Seinfeld go to look at the titular hole, you can't actually see it.
This isn't the first time that Seinfeld's been presented in a 16:9 ratio — it had the same issue when it was streaming over at Hulu. What's the deal?
