Satanic Temple Settles $50 Million 'Sabrina' Lawsuit Against Netflix

Following some very real legal threats, the Satanic Temple has settled a $50 million USD lawsuit against Netflix for allegedly ripping off the group's goat-headed Baphomet statue in The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.

As previously reported, the group of Satanists alleged Netflix and Warner Bros. had copied the image of Baphomet in the show, despite the reproduction of the figure getting no approval from the Satanic Temple.

The group's leader Lucien Greaves has now said the lawsuit has been settled, explaining that "the unique elements of the Satanic Temple's Baphomet statue" will be acknowledged in the credits of the show's episodes.

"The Satanic Temple is pleased to announce that the lawsuit it recently filed against Warner Bros. and Netflix has been amicably settled," Greaves wrote in a statement. "Many people immediately supported our copyright claim. However, there were also a large number of people who flooded us with hate mail and armchair legal analysis."

Details of the legal settlement, however, have not been disclosed, so it's unclear whether it involved financial compensation.
