Robert Eggers has announced the release date for his next film, the director's anticipated The Northman.
Following the movie's initial announcement last summer, The Northman — his upcoming Viking film starring Björk — will be out on April 8, 2022, through Focus Features/Universal Pictures.
This will be Eggers' third feature film, following his beloved past releases The Witch (2015) and The Lighthouse (2019).
As previously reported, the cast for the 10th century Viking epic features Lighthouse actor Willem Dafoe, plus Alexander Skårsgard, Anya Taylor-Joy, Nicole Kidman and Ethan Hawke. In addition, Björk and her daughter have roles, with the artist playing the role of the Slav Witch.
Eggers co-wrote the film with Sjón.
