Rip Torn Dead at 88

The legendary actor appeared in everything from 'The Larry Sanders Show' to 'Freddy Got Fingered'

Rip Tornn — the veteran actor who won an Emmy and was nominated for both Oscar and Tony awards — has passed away at the age of 88.

News of his death was confirmed by Torn's publicist. The actor died on Tuesday (July 9) with his wife Amy Wright and daughters Katie and Angelica by his side.

Torn won an Emmy for playing Artie in The Larry Sanders Show. Other notable credits included Defending Your Life, the first two Men in Black films, DodgeballFreddy Got Fingered and many others. He also made an early appearance in David Bowie's 1976 film The Man Who Fell to Earth.
