Last year, Netflix got into the true crime game with Making a Murderer — a legal doc series that launched a massive petition for the freeing of Steven Avery and Brendan Dassey. Now, the show's getting a second season.

In a new press release, Netflix announced that the show's second season has now gone into production. Rather than focus on a new murderer, the show will continue to look at the life of Steven Avery.

The new episodes will offer access to Avery's new lawyer Kathleen Zellner and Dassey's legal team, including Laura Nirider and Steve Drizin.

Show creators Laura Ricciardi and Moira Demos offered a statement to Netflix. "We are extremely grateful for the tremendous response to, and support of, the series," they said. "The viewers' interest and attention has ensured that the story is not over, and we are fully committed to continuing to document events as they unfold."

Stay tuned for more on Making a Murderer as it becomes available.
