Montreal's Fantasia International Film Festival Returns for 26th Edition

Featuring 'Bodies Bodies Bodies,' Lena Dunham's 'Sharp Stick' and a celebration of John Woo

This year marks the 26th anniversary of Montreal's Fantasia International Film Festival, which runs from July 14 to August 3.

The festival will open with director KC Carthew's Polaris, a post-apocalyptic horror filmed in Yukon on July 14; it closes with July Jung's Next Sohee, a South Korean drama about the exploitation of the young, on August 3. Additionally, the fest will honour action director John Woo with a Career Achievement Award.

Films getting premieres at Fantasia include Halina Rejin's Bodies Bodies Bodies (featuring Amandla Stenberg and Pete Davidson), Lena Dunham's Sharp Stick, Michel Hazanavicius's Final Cut and Dario Argento's Dark Glasses.

There will also be a number of Canadian films, including Tara Thorne's Compulsus, Luke Higginson's Relax I'm from the Future, Jesse Thomas Cook's Cult Hero, Berkley Brady's Dark Nature, Rodrigo Gudiño's The Breach, Andrew T. Hunt's The Fight Machine, Avalon Fast's Honeycomb, Ry Levey's Out in the Ring, Lenin M. Sivam's The Protector, Renaud Gautier's Punta Sinistra and Kyle Edward Ball's Skinamarink.
