Michael Keaton is in early talks with Warner Bros. to reprise his role as Batman in DC's upcoming feature, The Flash.
Nearly 30 years out from his original appearance in the role for Tim Burton's 1989 Batman, Keaton — now 68 years old — may return as the caped crusader in Andy Muschietti's forthcoming film, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Warner has yet to comment on the matter.
While the film has yet to go into production and Keaton's role not entirely cemented, Ezra Miller is already on board as the titular Flash, in keeping with his appearances as the character in other DC Universe films including Suicide Squad and Justice League.
The forthcoming film's synopsis reads:
While working in his lab during a storm one night, a bolt of lightning strikes a tray of chemicals soaking police scientist Barry Allen with its contents. Now able to move at super-speed, Barry becomes The Flash protecting Central City from the threats it faces.
So far, no other cast members have joined the fold, but Barbara Muschietti and Michael Disco will be helming the production.
The film's release has been pushed back over coronavirus concerns and is expected to arrive in June 2022.
