After gracing listeners with his ambitious Heaven and Earth LP earlier this year, Kamasi Washington has now revealed he'll be premiering a new short film at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival.
Titled As Told to G/D Thyself, Washington's short film will make its world premiere at Sundance in January.
Said to be inspired by the music of the sax man's second album, the film was directed collaboratively by the Ummah Chroma, which includes Bradford Young (Selma, Arrival, Solo: A Star Wars Story), Terence Nance (Random Acts of Flyness), Jenn Nkiru (Beyoncé and JAY-Z's "APESHIT"), Marc Thomas (Michael & Javier) and Washington himself.
The new year will also see Washington embark on a headlining tour of Europe, and you can find dates for that here. Both Heaven and Earth and bonus disc The Choice arrived this past June.
