Witness the Horrors of Deepfake by Watching an Impressionist Become John Malkovich, Bryan Cranston and Robert De Niro

The results are disturbingly realistic

If you've ever doubted the powers of deepfake technology, you've yet to see the frightening new video posted by actor and impressionist Jim Meskimen.

In a recent clip, Meskimen recites a poem titled "Pity the Poor Impressionist" while doing some wildly accurate impressions, which could be pretty believable all on their own — but he goes one step further to employ SHAM00K's deepfake technology to aid in his impressions. And it's disturbingly realistic.

In just two and a half minutes, Meskimen runs through impressions of a massive roster of notable figures and actors, including John Malkovich, Colin Firth, Robert De Niro, Tommy Lee Jones, Nick Offerman, George Clooney, Christopher Walken, Anthony Hopkins, Dr. Phil, Nicolas Cage, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Morgan Freeman, Bryan Cranston, Christoph Waltz, Joe Pesci, Jack Nicholson, George W. Bush, Ian McKellen, Ron Howard and the late Robin Williams.

At some points it's nearly impossible to tell the difference between Meskimen and the subject he's portraying.
