Nearly a year on from learning that Ryan Reynolds had been charged with bringing the Pokémon franchise to life on the big screen, we now have our first look at the Canadian actor as Detective Pikachu.
The first trailer for the Rob Letterman-helmed film finds Reynolds as the iconic Pokémon teaming up with protagonist Tim (Justice Smith) to help find his missing father.
Pokémon Detective Pikachu also stars Kathryn Newton (Lady Bird, Big Little Lies) and Ken Watanabe (Godzilla, The Last Samurai). The film will hit theatres May 10, 2019.
