Here's hoping you've caught up on all of the awards season flicks and put the finishing touches in your betting pool, because the 2016 Academy Awards are among us.
The show was hosted by Chris Rock, who managed to address the show's diversity issues while also keeping the (predominantly white) room on his side.
For his work in The Revenant, Leonardo DiCaprio was nominated for his sixth ever Oscar. Finally, after all these years, he took home a trophy, beating for Bryan Cranston (Trumbo), Matt Damon (The Martian), Michael Fassbender (Steve Jobs) and Eddie Redmayne (The Danish Girl).
As many predicted, Brie Larson took home the Best Actress for Room, beating out runners up Cate Blanchett (Carol), Jennifer Lawrence (Joy), Charlotte Rampling (45 Years) and Saoirse Ronan (Brooklyn).
Alejandro Inarritu won Best Director for the second year running, taking home the award for The Revenant after last year's Birdman. He beat out Adam McKay for The Big Short, George Miller for Mad Max: Fury Road, Alejandro Inarritu for The Revenant, Lenny Abrahamson for Room and Tom McCarthy for Spotlight.
Best Picture, on the other hand, didn't end up with The Revenant as many expected. Instead, it went to Tom McCarthy for Spotlight.
