Donald Glover Is Making a 'Deadpool' Animated Series

We'll have to wait until next year for more Atlanta, but Donald Glover has plenty more treats coming our way. In addition to his recent musical work as Childish Gambino, the renaissance man is about to bring us a brand new Marvel cartoon.

Donald and his brother Stephen Glover are set to write, executive producer and serve as showrunners on a 10-episode animated action-comedy series based on the Deadpool comics.

The show will air on FXX (the same network as Archer) and is currently being written in London while Glover is on breaks from playing Lando Calrissian.

"Donald Glover is an incredibly gifted and versatile artist who'll bring the untitled Marvel's Deadpool series to life with the same intense, singular vision as his breakout hit Atlanta," FX president of original programming Nick Grad said. "With the success of Legion, we're looking forward to again partnering with Marvel Television to create a series that is bold, striking and entirely original."

This won't be Glover's first entry into the Marvel Universe. He's also set to make an appearance in Spider-Man: Homecoming.

You can order Glover's most recent Childish Gambino album, Awaken, My Love!, via Umusic.
