David Duchovny continues to do all kinds of interesting things with his post-X-Files career. Following a dalliance with music, he's now looking to star in a television adaptation of a novel he wrote.

According to Deadline, he's in talks with Showtime to adapt Truly Like Lightning, a novel he recently published. He'll star in the series and adapt it with Tyler Nilson and Michael Schwartz, the writers and directors behind The Peanut Butter Falcon.

The book follows the lives of a former Hollywood stuntman named Bronson Powers (Duchovny) who lives in the Californian desert with three wives and 10 children. When a developer tries to take his land from him, a conflict arises.

"I'm so excited to be heading back home to Showtime with the uniquely talented team of Schwartz and Nilson — it's a collaboration I can't wait to begin," Duchovny said.
