'Conan' Will Ditch Musical Performances in 2019

As previously reported, Conan O'Brien's constantly evolving TV career will shift once again in 2019 when his show switches to a half-hour format. While change is most likely a good thing, we've now learned that it comes at the cost of musical guests.

According to Variety, producers of Conan have parted ways with their music booker Roey Hershkovitz. He had been with the show in one capacity or another for nearly 20 years, beginning as an intern in 1999.

The new format of the show simply won't have room for musical guests, as the 30-minute runtime will be made up of comedy bits and interviews with one guest per show.

The new Conan format launches in January 2019.
