Actress Debbie Reynolds, Mother of Carrie Fisher, Dead at 84

More tragedy has apparently struck Carrie Fisher's extended family. One day after Fisher officially passed away, her mother Debbie Reynolds has been rushed to the hospital.

UPDATE (12/28, 9:00 p.m. EST) TMZ now confirms that Reynolds has passed away from a stroke.

Reynolds, a legendary actress in her own right, was meeting with her son Todd Fisher to make funeral arrangements for Carrie. Just after 1 p.m. Los Angeles time today, TMZ reports that an ambulance was called for Reynolds.

While details are scarce, the 84-year-old Reynolds was brought to a local emergency room due to a possible stroke.

Reynolds has had a decades-long career with beloved roles including Singin' in the RainThree Little Words and many other films. She also appeared in multiple episodes of Will & Grace.
