Canadians Can Now Compete on 'Survivor'

After watching Americans outwit, outplay and outlast each other for over 30 seasons, Canadians are now officially eligible to compete on reality TV staple Survivor.

As ET Canada reports, the American series' longtime host Jeff Probst made the announcement official today. "I am happy to say that – finally – I can say to Canadians, 'You should apply to be on 'Survivor' because you can be," he said. "For the first time ever, we're looking to have Canadians on the show."

"It's hard to get on Survivor", Probst added. "We're super picky, we're looking for really compelling people and interesting stories and I've seen so many people over the years apply and then I find out, 'Oh man, they're Canadian and we can't do it.' Those days are gone."

Canadians interested in applying to be on the show's 39th season can send an audition tape to SurvivorCastingCanada@cbs.com as an unlisted YouTube video.

Applicants must also include their name, age, location, occupation, relationship status, phone number and a brief description of why they want to be on Survivor.

The show's 37th season, titled Survivor: David vs. Goliath, premieres tonight.
