'Blade Runner' Sequel Officially Titled 'Blade Runner 2049'

We've slowly but surely been getting info on the anticipated new Blade Runner film, but until now we've kind of struggled with what to call the damn thing. Well, consider us sorted. It's been confirmed that director Denis Villeneuve's sequel to Ridley Scott's 1982 sci-fi classic will officially be called Blade Runner 2049.

The news was shared via a press release, which now encourages us to use the hashtag #BladeRunner2049. The title was also confirmed via social media, where a photo of Scott and Villeneuve, along with stars Harrison Ford and Ryan Gosling, is now circulating on the official Blade Runner 2049 Twitter page.
 

If you're looking for more new news of the officially dubbed Blade Runner 2049, though, you're out of luck for now.

As previously reported, the film will feature a score Jóhann Jóhannsson and will arrive in theatres on October 6, 2017.
