'Black Mirror' Now Has Its Very Own "Nosedive" Card Game
If you've been feeling a serious lack of dystopian card games in your life, rest easy — Black Mirror has you covered.

Yes, believe it or not, Charlie Brooker's futuristic sci-fi series has been turned into a playable card game. Called Nosedive: A Social Game, it takes its inspiration from the Black Mirror Season 3 episode "Nosedive," which told the frightening tale of a future society where each and every action by every individual was rated on a five-star scale courtesy of their fellow citizens.

The game's official description states it offers players "light social & strategic gameplay," and they can "create a 'perfect' life by collecting Lifestyle cards, while avoiding any dings to your Social Score that could cause everything you've worked for to come crashing down."

The game also is apparently designed to work with an integrated app on iOS and Android, helping provide "over 1,000 unique experiences to impress players' important friends and improve their social standing."

Nosedive: A Social Game comes from Endemol Shine North America and gaming publisher and distributor Asmodee North America. It costs $19.99 USD, can be played by 3 to 6 players, and recommended for those over the age of 13.

We've been unable to find an actual purchase link to the game up here in Canada, but you can see what it looks like in the product shot above.

"'Nosedive' is a satire on acceptance and the image of ourselves we like to portray and project to others," Black Mirror creator Charlie Brooker previously said of the episode. "Everyone is a little heightened and false because everyone is terrified of being marked down because the consequences of that are unpleasant. So it's basically the world we live in."

As of yet, a firm premiere date for Season 5 of Black Mirror has yet to be announced.
