Ben Affleck Says 'The Batman' Is "Not a Set Thing"

Last year, Ben Affleck appeared as Batman in two absolutely terrible movies. Yet despite all the hate for Batman v. Superman and Suicide Squad, Batfleck was set to return with a new film called The Batman. Now, it looks like the project may be on hold.

Affleck was meant to both star in and direct the project, of which he had reportedly written a treatment last year. Now, however, he seems to be retreating to the Batcave for a rewrite.

In a recent interview with the Guardian, Affleck offered a brief and somewhat disappointing update on the project. "That's the idea," he said on news that he'd direct The Batman. But he was just as quick to quell any excitement about the project. "But it's not a set thing and there's no script. If it doesn't come together in a way I think is really great I'm not going to do it."

Ben Affleck's next film Live By Night arrives later this month.
