Even though the critics are not down with it, Zack Snyder's Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice continues to crush it at the box office. As such, we'll probably be stuck with this franchise for a little while. Today, some news about Ben Affleck's involvement has surfaced.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Affleck will continue to wear the black bat suit for both forthcoming Justice League movies. That said, there's still talk of a standalone Batman film.
Rumours have long been percolating that Affleck will direct himself in the next big Batman movie, but the plot has now thickened as we've learned that Affleck also wrote the script.
The news comes from a THR cover story, where William Morris Endeavor CEO Patrick Whitesell explained that Affleck's come up with an idea. "There's a script that he's written that is a really cool [Batman] idea, so that's out there as an option," he said.
If Ben Affleck writes, directs and stars in his own Batman movie, he's not really allowed to feel bummed out if and when the critics hate it. Until then, enjoy his onscreen sadness below.
