Asia Argento was accused of sexual misconduct earlier this year by former co-star Jimmy Bennett, but according to a new report, the case against her is officially on hold after the accuser failed to file any police report. What's more, Bennett has reportedly fallen off the grid and been unreachable for months.

As TMZ reports, police have been unable to reach Bennett, despite trying to contact him repeatedly about his claims against the actress. Bennett — who alleged Argento had sexually assaulted him in 2013 at age 17 — was last heard from back in September when he conducted an interview on Italian television, which didn't go over so well.

When the claims were first levelled against Argento back in August, the now 22-year-old Bennett vowed he would be going to police with his allegations, but it appears that he's still yet to do so all these months later. As such, TMZ now reports that any sort of case against Argento is on ice.

As previously reported, Argento was alleged to have paid to $380,000 USD to Jimmy Bennett, a former child actor and musician who alleged Argento had sexually assaulted him in a California hotel room two months past his 17th birthday in 2013. Argento was 37 at the time. The age of consent in California is 18.

Argento denied the allegations and claimed she was the one who was in fact assaulted.
