Alessandro Alessandroni Holy Grails 'A Trip Around the World' and 'Prisma Sonoro' Unearthed for Vinyl Reissues

While Italian library/soundtrack great Alessandro Alessandroni may be gone, his music continues to inspire a whole new generation of listeners thanks to an increasing number of reissues. Now a pair of the late maestro's arguably strongest albums — A Trip Around the World and Prisma Sonoro — are finally coming back to vinyl.

This spring, we will see the reissue of both albums, with Alessandroni's beloved 1973 library effort A Trip Around the World arriving first. The new pressing of the serious rare — and pricey — album arrives via Stella, with remastering coming courtesy of Sonor Music Editions.

While the exact release date is unclear, copies have begun showing up via online retail sites, with the release coming on green vinyl and in a limited edition of 300 copies. For the unfamiliar, you can stream the seriously mind-blowing album below. As you'll hear, the lounge-tinted, beach-appropriate record couldn't come at a better time of the year.

As for 1974's Prisma Sonoro, the reissue is set to arrive early next month on May 3. It comes via the Roundtable, which previously reissued the album back in 2012 (with those now also fetching some high dollars on online resellers).

As the label explains, "One of the most desired sessions (and reported to be his own favourite recording) is Prisma Sonoro, a mythical library LP issued as a micro press for the highly collectable Sermi label. This music is exquisitely crafted Italian mood music; propulsive Bossa, enchanting Harpsichord melodies, scowling Giallo-style guitars, mournful string arrangements and the sublimely plaintive voice of Edda Dell'Orso. Long regarded as the backbone of Italian film music, here is Maestro Alessandroni in all his own lush psychedelic glory."

Down below, you can listen to all of Prisma Sonoro as well.

Alessandroni passed away in 2017 at the age of 92.
