​Alan Thicke's Cause of Death Revealed

Alan Thicke passed away on December 13 at the age of 69, and now the actor's cause of death has been revealed.
 
Thicke's death certificate states that he died of a ruptured aorta. According to a doctor at the Burbank, California hospital where he passed away, Thicke's aorta developed a tear and fatally ruptured three hours later. No autopsy was performed.
 
The document was released yesterday (December 21), two days after the actor was buried in a Santa Barbara cemetery.
 
The late actor's wife Tanya Thicke, released a statement saying that the family was currently dealing with "gut wrenching sadness and unbelievable grief."

Thicke was best known for his role as Dr. Jason Seaver on Growing Pains, though he also worked as a songwriter, composing the theme songs for Diff'rent StrokesThe Facts of Life and Wheel of Fortune.
