A Fistful of Dollars — the classic 1964 Spaghetti Western film that featured Clint Eastwood in his first leading role — is set to be adapted for television.
Deadline reports that Mark Gordon Pictures will helm the adaptation, while Game of Thrones writer Bryan Cogman is in talks to pen the script.
The site notes that in order to complete their "original, contemporary retelling" of the story, Mark Gordon Pictures has acquired the rights to both Sergio Leone's A Fistful of Dollars, as well as the film it was based on: Akira Kurosawa's 1961 samurai film Yojimbo.
While Eastwood himself is not tied to the project, his recognizable role as "the Man With No Name" landed him the lead in Leone's sequel films For a Few Dollars More and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.
