Though he's best known for characters like Aurora, Illinois legend Wayne Campbell and the horny English spy Austin Powers, SNL alum Mike Myers is a proud, outspoken Canadian. Now, he's set to explore his heritage in a new book.
As the CBC reports, Myers has signed with Doubleday Canada to write a book that's described as "part memoir, part history and complete entertainment."
The book will include images that document Myers' own Canadian upbringing, as well as illustrations and humorous anecdotes about life in Canada.
In a statement, Myers said, "In 1967, Canada turned 100. Canadians all across the country made Centennial projects. This book is my Centennial Project. I'm handing it in a little late... sorry."
He continued, "I'm an actor, producer and writer, but no description of me is complete without saying I'm a Canadian."
While we await the release of Myers' book, you can watch his appearance on John Oliver's Last Week Tonight from last year. Dressed as a Mountie, he urged Canadians to vote Stephen Harper out as prime minister. It turns out he was pretty damn convincing.
