Kanye West Performs on 'SNL,' Battles Kyle Mooney, Releases New Album

BY Josiah HughesPublished Feb 14, 2016

Although Melissa McCarthy was technically billed as the host of Saturday Night Live, the evening was overshadowed by the larger-than-life hip-hop legend Kanye West, there to promote his misogynist gospel album The Life of Pablo. The rapper performed two tracks from the LP, appeared in a sketch and announced that it's now streaming at Tidal and available to purchase at his official website.

Joined by a wide cast of people that included The-Dream, Young Thug, Kirk Franklin, El DeBarge, Chance the Rapper and many others, Kanye powered through album tracks "High Lights" and "Ultra Light Beam."

He also appeared in a hilarious sketch from SNL MVP Kyle Mooney, who offered a cinema verite mockumentary about his dream to battle Kanye West and make it as a rapper.

Watch highlights from Kanye West's SNL appearance below, and check out The Life of Pablo as of right now soon?

UPDATE: As of press time, neither the Tidal stream nor the online shop for Kanye's album have gone live. Kanye please, let this godawful album roll-out end.

UPDATE 2: The album's here!
