John Early and Kate Berlant — criminally under-recognized comedy duo and funniest people alive — have shared a trailer for their new comedy special Would It Kill You to Laugh?
The hour-long special sees the two playing fictionalized, former-superstar versions of themselves who come together decades after a public falling out. The trailer features peeks at this through-line as the pair are interviewed by Meredith Vieira in an Oprah-esque sit-down, plus a whole bunch of characters and sketches.
Directed by Andrew DeYoung — who directed the duo's required-viewing 2017 series 555 — Would It Kill You to Laugh? is arriving June 24 on Peacock.
Aside from their standup work, the two have been busy lately, with Early spending the last few years starring in Search Party and Berlant popping up in film roles like Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and Olivia Wilde's upcoming Don't Worry Darling. She's also set to star in Abbi Jacobson's upcoming A League of Their Own reboot series.
