With the second season of HBO's Flight of the Conchords in full swing, Bret and Jemaine have announced they're hitting the road. Come spring, the "Formerly New Zealand's fourth most popular guitar-based digi-bongo acapella-rap-funk-comedy folk duo" will play a slew of North American live dates, hitting up several U.S. cities and doing one night in Vancouver and two in Toronto.
The dates will coincide with the conclusion of the TV series and the release of the Conchords' second Sub Pop full-length, which is set for release on April 14. Most of the album's details have yet to be announced, meaning there is no title or tracklisting, but the record is reported to have 15 tracks, ten of which will be featured on the second season and are being released individually via iTunes the day after each episode airs.
In related Flight of the Conchords news, the guys are up for another Grammy this year for their 2008 self-titled album. In 2007, the duo won the award for best comedy album for their EP The Distant Future.
