After issuing his To the Recently Found Innocent LP earlier in the summer, Bay Area psych-pop emperor White Fence (a.k.a. Tim Presley) is toasting ancient Rome with a new non-album track labelled "Nero (Has a Lot to Think About)."
The single, the 12th instalment of Famous Class's "Less Artists More Condos" series, flirts with a blur of sped-up merry-go-round sounds before gelling into a hazy strum of acoustic guitar, soul-coating xylophone and a crackling backbeat. As the rest of the band are burning it up, we hear a lore-driven fiddle enter the arrangement. Presley, meanwhile, muses on "peace and war" and the right to "fight for your city."
