After crowning Montreal's MUTANK as the champs of this year's Wacken Metal Battle Canada back in June, organizers for the event have announced they'll be spreading the competition to even more cities across the country in 2015.
Next year's competition will also feature battles in Ottawa, Quebec City, Saskatoon and Winnipeg, adding to the existing competition sites of Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto and Montreal. As with year's past, regional qualifying events will take place between January and May, with the finals set to take place sometime in June in Toronto.
UPDATE: The event has now also added Victoria to the competition.
The winner will get the opportunity to perform at the Wacken Open Air festival in Germany, whose 2015 edition runs July 30 to August 1.
"We're happy to be expanding again this year again with the addition of Ottawa, Quebec City, Winnipeg and Saskatoon," event organizer JJ Tartaglia said in a statement. "As pillars of the metal community it's our duty to provide the opportunities of Metal Battle to as many Canadian bands as possible."
