Vic Mensa has shared some promising-sounding singles in the past few months, and now the up-and-coming Chicago rapper has officially announced when his debut mixtape will arrive. Innanetape is out on September 30.
The fast-rising rhymer — who is a cohort of Chance the Rapper and appeared on the excellent Acid Rap mixtape — announced the release with a minute-and-a-half-long trailer. It parodies the beating of DJ Nate, as a cameraman films Vic while he is assaulted and robbed in broad daylight. In the process, the crooks find a cassette copy of Innanetape on the rapper's person, prompting them to ask, quite naturally, when it comes out.
Watch the trailer below. Also below, check out the recent singles "Time Is Money," "Hollywood LA" and "Orange Soda."
While the mixtape is coming out in a month, the rapper is evidently still working on the music. Last night (August 29), producer Cam Osteen tweeted, "Currently in studio with @VicMensa wrapping up this hot #fire that is #INNANETAPE."
