Tad Doyle's Brothers of the Sonic Cloth Announce Debut Album

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Dec 2, 2014

After announcing back in the summer that Tad Doyle's debut full-length with his Brothers of the Sonic Cloth project would be served up through Neurot Recordings, the band have now confirmed a 2015 arrival time. Their self-titled LP will crush you February 17.

A press release confirms that the album contains "some of the heaviest music from the darkest depths of the Pacific Northwest." As previously reported, the recording sessions for the five-song LP (the CD edition contains a pair of bonus tracks) had the trio recording at Robert Lang Studios and Tad Doyle's own Witch Ape Studio in Seattle. The tracks were later mixed by Billy Anderson (Sleep, High on Fire, Melvins) at Portland's Everything Hz facility.

Said to blend the worlds of sludge, metal and hardcore punk, the Brothers' first full-length will apparently have the band "splicing serrated riffs through chilling post-punk drumming."

While they had issued a split 10-inch with Seattle's Mico de Noche in 2009, Doyle explained that this first full-length from Brothers of the Cloth, originally formed as a recording-only project, after 15 years of "woodshedding, riffing and writing new material."

Though tracks from the set have yet to arrive in full, you can check out some of the murky metal madness in the teaser trailer down below, where you'll also find the tracklisting.
