Toronto-based post-punk duo Strange & Primitive are set to unleash their self-titled LP later this summer, but before it lands, Exclaim! has got your first look at the new video for album cut "Difficulties Be Damned."

The band consists of Guelph, ON-born Graham Fish and Osaka, Japan-born, British-Columbia-raised Jeff Musgrave, who both bring their own sets of diverse influences to the table. Drawing inspiration from film, their unique brand of pop-infused post-punk has a cinematic quality to it and incorporates both organic and synthetic noise.

"Difficulties Be Damned" encapsulates the band's eclectic sound, transporting the listener on a journey through exotic, electro-tinged and undeniably catchy soundscapes. The accompanying visuals are equally adventurous. The animated clip was directed by Malcolm Sutherland and follows a little automaton as he travels across colourful jungle landscapes to a bizarre and frightening end.

Strange & Primitive arrives on August 21, but you can watch the video premiere for "Difficulties Be Damned" in the player below, right now. Beyond that, you can also check out the audio-only stream of the same track.
