Montreal music-making duo Secret Sun dropped their debut LP Cold Coast last year, and followed it up by remixing a handful of the album's tracks. Now, Exclaim! is pleased to premiere another cut from the remix project — this time, a new version of "City," courtesy of ToastDawg.
The hip-hop DJ and producer also hails from Montreal, and treats ethereal indie pop tune "City" to a makeover that's awash in rolling drum machines and sparkling synths. The soft, airy vocals remain in tact, though, maintaining the song's light, whimsical feel.
The two-piece band will be playing at Toronto's Dakota on May 9, as part of Canadian Music Week, and more remixed tracks are expected to roll out in the near future. For now, though, kick back and relax to the smooth sounds of ToastDawg's take on Secret Sun's "City" in the player below.
