As you may have noticed, 'tis the season for pop artists to start rolling out their own versions of the Christmas classics. Not to be outdone, blue-eyed soulsmith Sam Smith has jumped into the fray by putting out an azure-tinted twist on "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas."
The minimalist interpretation finds Smith softly serenading us with little more accompanying him than a toasty piano. While as precious as a snowflake, there's a sadness to Smith's version, almost as if it were recorded In the Lonely Hour.
