Royal Wood Announces 'The Burning Bright' Companion Album

BY Alex HudsonPublished Jun 26, 2014

Royal Wood released his last album, The Burning Bright, just a few months ago, but he's already unveiled a companion collection. There's a bit of a catch, however, since I Wish You Well will only be available at shows starting on August 21.

The album was produced by Dean Drouillard and consists of nine songs written during five weeks in a cottage in Ireland. Four of these are alternate mixes of tunes from The Burning Bright, an album that was made following the dissolution of Wood's marriage with Sarah Slean.

"The making of I Wish You Well was a letting go of everything I knew. It was ultimately a capturing of a moment experienced in the rural countryside of Ireland that changed my life forever," said Wood in a statement.

A press release notes that the new record is geared towards "fans with a desire to delve deeper into the emotional journey" of The Burning Bright.
