Last year, Royal Wood released his latest LP The Burning Bright, as well as an additional companion piece called I Wish You Well. Keeping the momentum going, he's set his sights on a new DVD release and shared a video for The Burning Bright song "I'm Afraid," which you can see first on Exclaim.ca.
In the clip, the dapperly dressed folk crooner is joined by a band and back-up singers, as he remains firmly planted behind his piano. It's a nicely shot, fairly straightforward performance video, though we do get little bits of superimposed animation and footage from the road.
And while this particular clip will not appear on Royal Wood's upcoming live release, the songwriter will release a DVD called Royal Wood Live at the Grand on February 10 that was filmed his show at the Grand Theatre in London, ON. The film "captures Royal at the height of his performance chops" and features "a stellar band and a timeless set list that spans his entire career and reflects upon his variety of musical influences."
