The Roots Unveil Their Own Ugly Christmas Sweater

BY Alex HudsonPublished Dec 3, 2013

Music fans have plenty of choice when it comes to ugly Christmas sweaters this year. We've already seen unsightly garments from Queens of the Stone Age and Death From Above 1979, and now crossover rap stars the Roots have got in on the fun.

The sweaters cost $40 U.S. and are available in red, black or grey. As you can see from the photo above, they include a pattern of snowflakes, pine trees and reindeer, plus 8-bit looking depictions of the members of the Roots.

According to the official product description, this is a soft fleece pullover. Buyers are encouraged to "spread holiday cheer with our version of Uncle Ray Ray's ugly Christmas sweater that you hate to love and love to hate (and know you want)."

They are available to order from Questlove's Okayplayer music site here, and shipping will begin on December 9. That's the same day that the Roots will perform at the Okayplayer Holiday Jam at the Brooklyn Bowl in New York.

Thanks to Brooklyn Vegan for the tip.
