Rah Rah Unveil "Little Poems" 7-Inch, Gear Up for New Full-Length

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Apr 26, 2012

Last fall, we learned that Regina's Rah Rah were heading into the studio with producer Gus Van Go (the Stills, Hollerado) to prep a follow-up to 2010's Breaking Hearts. It turns out the band produced more material than they anticipated, as they've readied a seven-inch featuring two exclusive cuts.

The "Little Poems" / "I Could Tell You I'm Sorry" single arrives June 12 through Hidden Pony. The A-side, which you can stream here, features trade-off vocals from Marshall Burns and Erin Passmore. It's a relationship number about being "poor, drunk and scared of being alone," and is told from the perspective of a musician on the road.

The two-track platter will act as a primer to the band's next full-meal deal, The Poet's Dead, which should hit store shelves sometime this fall. As previously noted, the band teamed up with producer Van Go, as well as Werner F, to put together the collection.

The Poet's Dead allegedly "draws a musical footnote from Neil Young while weaving an endlessly impressive amount of contemplation and maturity into their heart-on-their-sleeve songs."

While neither a tracklisting or release date have been delivered for the full-length, Rah Rah are expected to drop more info in the coming months.

In the meantime, Rah Rah will head east on an 11-date tour this May that will have them travelling from Saskatchewan to Quebec. You can see the schedule down below.
