My Car, My Spaceship

BY John F. ButlandPublished Sep 1, 1999

The A-side is heavy on the fuzz and distortion, with a deep groove and a psychedelic Brit Invasion chorus. They claim it’s a Blue Cheer homage, but it sounds more like a mixture of Small Faces and Black Sabbath to me. And to lend credence to that theory, consider the B-side, a Sabbath cover. They grind it out, slightly leaden at first, but it devolves into a head bobbing heavy groove, complete with their best adenoidal Ozzy vocals. The limited edition (1000) single, comes in a nifty round cover that looks like a blown speaker.
