It nearly took four years, but we've finally escaped the ubiquitous cultural grip of PSY's meme song "Gangnam Style." Now, the South Korean performer is trying to do it all again with a new album. First up, we get a video for the song "Daddy."
It's hard to remember a time when "Gangnam Style" wasn't incredibly annoying, but the song's original appeal was its immediate weirdness. "Daddy" plays it a little more safe, flipping Will.I.Am's "I Got It from My Mama" to be about PSY's daddy.
Its accompanying video is funny enough, with PSY superimposed on the bodies of infants and toddlers, but we have a feeling "Daddy" isn't going to pack the same pop culture heft of PSY's previous work. The song appears on PSY's upcoming new album Chiljip PSY-Da.
