The Canadian launch of Spotify already has its perks: namely, the ability to stream both of Prince's new albums: Art Official Age and Plectrumelectrum.
Art Official Age is a solo album that offers a hyper-modern, intricately produced take on synth-spiked future funk. Its sounds range from computerized pop to smooth baby-making ballads.
Plectrumelectrum, on the other hand, is co-credited to Prince and his band 3RDEYEGIRL. It's more raw and rocking, with guitars and drums that sound like the work of a stripped-down live group. Prince shares lead vocal duties here with 3RDEYEGIRL.
Both albums came out today (September 30) via Warner Bros. Records. Listen to them below.
