Pemberton Music Festival Reveals Dates for 2015 Edition

BY Alex HudsonPublished Dec 10, 2014

This year marked the first instalment of Pemberton Music Festival, a British Columbia event that took place in July a couple hours down the highway from Vancouver. Evidently it was a success, since the founders at Huka Entertainment have announced that it will be coming back for year two in 2015.

The event will run from July 16 to 19 (that's Thursday to Sunday). None of the performers has been announced just yet, but early bird tickets will be available to purchase starting on Friday (December 12) at 10 a.m. local time. These cost $229 for a four-day pass; it's also required that buyers get an $89 camping or shuttle pass, or a $29 Go Green commuter pass (which are for walking or biking and are available in limited quantities).

Once the first tier of early bird tickets run out, the price will increase to $255. There are also some more expensive VIP options, plus RV passes. See full ticketing information at Pemberton's website.

Local music fans will likely be relieved that Pemberton Music Festival is coming back for another go-around. Some may remember that the previous Pemberton Festival (which was run by Live Nation in 2008) experienced many logistical problems, and plans to bring it back for another year were eventually abandoned.

Last year's event was comparatively smooth, although there was a scare when an attendee was found dead in what initially was rumoured to be suspicious circumstances (although investigators later ruled out foul play).

Performers last year included Nine Inch Nails, Outkast, deadmau5, Frank Ocean, Kendrick Lamar and many more. Stay tuned for the 2015 lineup to be announced soon.
