Toronto synth-pop darlings Parallels are currently working on their third album — a follow-up to 2012's XII — but in the meantime, Exclaim! is pleased to premiere the group's brand new video for "Age of Consent."
If the name is ringing a bell, that's because the tune is a cover of New Order's 1983 Power, Corruption & Lies track. The accompanying visuals show the band recreating the shoegaze-y song at the Marigold Studios in Toronto, and the footage was shot by local director Howard Wan.
"We've been working on our third album, and found that doing a cover song sets the tone for things to come," said vocalist Holly Dodson in a statement about the clip. "'Age of Consent' was my gateway song into synth music, new wave and New Order, so it's definitely a huge influence on our music."
