Oneohtrix Point Never Details Record Store Day 12-inch

BY Brock ThiessenPublished Mar 5, 2014

If you've been paying attention to our list our Record Store Day exclusives, you'll already know that there is a massive pile of new releases set to flood indie retailers on April 19. Among them, we recently noticed a mysterious new release from Daniel Lopatin's Oneohtrix Point Never, who is releasing something called Commissions I. Now, though, we've got all the details of what it entails.

Commissions I will come as a 12-inch via Warp Records featuring three previously unreleased tracks and, according to a press release, was "developed from Oneohtrix Point Never's commissions for artwork, performance and film over the year."

The lead-off track is "Music for Steamed Rocks," which was composed by Lopatin for Polish Icons at Sacrum Profanum in 2013 and whereby Lopatin interpreted Witold Lutoslawski's preludes. You can stream the track at the bottom of the page.

As for the other two tracks, "Meet Your Creator" was composed as the soundtrack to a performance video for Quadrotor in 2012 and "I Only Have Eyes for You" was commissioned for the SONG1 Happening installation the same year.

You can see the artwork above and the tracklist details below. The 12-inch will come with a black foil print jacket and die-cut view of the inner sleeve.

OPN also has some tour dates coming up, including some here in Canada. Check out that schedule below.
