Art-damaged punk greats Nomeansno may not have issued an LP since 2006's All Roads Lead to Ausfahrt, but the Victoria, BC-based crew have a pair of vinyl reissues on the horizon in case you missed out the first time around.
A new pressing of the band's 1982 debut LP Mama arrives July 30 through the group's own Wrong Records. This latest edition marks the first vinyl pressing in over 30 years, and the double-LP package is being preserved on 180-gram wax. In addition to the original album, the deluxe edition also includes the four songs from Nomeansno's 1981 EP Betrayal, Fear, Anger, Hatred.
A press release for the set explains that Mama is a formative LP that, while different from the rest of the band's catalogue, is "full of dark yet inspiring lyrics and signature dynamics" and hints at "the emotional menace and musical fury" that was to come.
Also on the way is a repress of the band's 1989 album Wrong, which Outer Himalayan drops into stores July 9. The double-LP set is being pressed in a limited-edition run of 1,000 records on red and white splatter vinyl, and will feature a pair of bonus cuts ("State of Grace" and "End of the World") that were originally on a 7-inch from experimental offshoot project Mr. Wrong.
