NOFX's Fat Mike Reveals 'Home Street Home' Musical

BY Josiah HughesPublished Dec 3, 2014

Fat Mike, frontman and founder of the veteran pop punk act NOFX, has announced plans for a touring musical in 2015.

As Rolling Stone reports, the show is called Home Street Home. Fat Mike has been working on the project for years and has teamed up with some big-name collaborators. In addition to his girlfriend Soma Snakeoil, the performer has worked on the musical with director Richard Israel and producer Jeff Marx, the latter of whom is best known for co-creating and composing Avenue Q.

The musical will tour throughout 2015 and open sometime after the soundtrack's release. The remaining dates for the tour have yet to be announced.

Prior to that, Fat Wreck Chords will issue the official Home Street Home soundtrack. The release features performances from Lena Hall (Hedwig & the Angry Inch), as well as Frank Turner, Matt Skiba, Stacy Dee and late No Use for a Name frontman Tony Sly.

The soundtrack also sees musical contributions from members of NOFX, the Descendents, Lagwagon, Mad Caddies and many others.

In a statement, Fat Mike explained that the soundtrack recording differs from the live show.

"Ever since I saw Rocky Horror [Picture Show] when I was eight, I've been intrigued by musicals," Mike said in a statement. "Well, not all musicals, just the ones that break the mould. Luckily, I found two people, Jeff Marx and Soma Snakeoil, that love breaking things as much as I do. This is fucking fun!"

Home Street Home's soundtrack will see release on February 10 via Fat Wreck. Stay tuned for more information on the musical's tour dates.
