Hailing from the Ottawa area, melodic hardcore outfit Mayfield are set to take the new year by storm with a new EP, and Exclaim.ca has got the premiere of their brand new track "Wide Awake."
The band have honed their sound to find a balance between light and dark, pushing themselves beyond the traditional barriers of the genre. Blending harsh, screaming vocals with softer harmonies, and mixing tuneful guitar lines with aggressive punches of distortion, "Wide Awake" encapsulates the middle ground the band were searching for.
The upcoming EP Let It Be Known was mastered by Joao Carvahlo and is slated to arrive on February 2 via We Are Triumphant Records.
