San Francisco beatmaker Matrixxman has been getting his name out there as of late, and his Discogs page already includes a handful of releases from 2014. All this hard work is clearly paying off, since he's just signed to Spectral Sound (a spinoff of Ghostly International) for his Amulet EP.
Due out on June 9, these four songs are said to draw on house and techno. They are apparently "rich with analog ideas, and explores his interests in deep Chicago moods juxtaposed with techno futurism," with influences including Balearic beat and dubby, UK-style bass.
The tracklist is below. Scroll past that to hear opening cut "Venetian Mask," a five-minute banger that's filled with thumping beats, twinkling synths and space-age calypso plinks.
Amulet:
1. Venetian Mask
2. Enter Me
3. Scimitar
4. The Caravan
