The "Likely Lads" of the Libertines may have disbanded after the release of their second self-titled LP back in 2004, but they've reunited and are set to return with a new record titled Anthems for Doomed Youth next month.
We've already heard lead single "Gunga Din" and seen some live footage of album opener "Barbarians," but now the UK rockers have shared another new album called "Glasgow Coma Scale Blues."
In their signature style, Pete Doherty and Carl Barât trade the lines of the verses back and forth; the former delivering borderline honkytonk wails between the latter's more restrained vocal style, though they come together to sing a rousing chorus that documents the band's troubled past.
The Libertines' story serves as the Timeline in this month's issue of Exclaim!, but before you pick up a copy, find out Five Noteworthy Facts You May Not Know About the Libertines.
Anthems for Doomed Youth is out on September 4 via Harvest. Hear "Glasgow Coma Scale Blues" in the player below.
UPDATE: Via a Facebook post, the band have also shared the album's title track and announced that the record will be arriving a week later than originally scheduled "to allow us to do something else special for you." Anthems for Doomed Youth will now be out September 11.
